perhaps the worst things about a traditional mud server is that (a) no
object oriented technology, which makes the whole thing a bear to code,
since its all in C and most of the base codes (like CircleMUD, bleck) are
literally crap.  The next worst thing builds on the previous:  Since it's
all in C, if you modify ANYTHING in the src, you gotta recompile, take the
server down and restart it.  While some M*s have internal languages like
MOOs, the traditional MUD server doesn't, and that's why I'd rather code an
RPG on a MOO over running a MUD. :/.
