Unfortunately, there are two reasons why I can't do this.  The first, and
probably most significant, is that this sort of detection would have to be
pretty deeply embedded in the RX code, a prospect I don't relish.  Second, you
can't tell from the pattern alone whether or not things are bad; it depends on
the use to which the programmer puts the result.
