Ho 12:1
A reproof of Ephraim, Judah, and Jacob.
Ho 12:1
ALLIANCES, EVIL
Egypt
Assyria

Ephraim feedeth1 on wind, and followeth after the east wind: he daily2 increaseth lies and desolation; and they3 do make a covenant with the Assyrians, and oil is carried into Egypt.

Ho 12:2

The LORD hath also a controversy4 with Judah, and will5 punish6 Jacob according to his ways; according to his doings7 will he recompense him.

Ho 12:3
By former favours he exhorts to repentance.

He took8 his brother by the heel in the womb, and by his strength he had9 power with God:

Bethel 1

Yea, he had power over the angel10, and prevailed: he wept, and made11 supplication unto him: he found12 him in Bethel, and there he spake13 with us;

Ho 12:5

Even14 the LORD God of hosts; the LORD is15 his memorial.

MERCIFULNESS-UNMERCIFULNESS
WAITING UPON GOD

Therefore turn16 thou to thy God: keep17 mercy and judgment, and wait18 on thy God continually.

Ephraim's sins provoke God.

BUSINESS LIFE

He is a merchant19, the balances20 of deceit are in his hand: he loveth21 to oppress22.

Ho 12:8

And Ephraim said, Yet23 I am become rich, I have24 found me out substance: in all25 my labours they shall find none iniquity in me that26 were sin.

Ho 12:9
Egypt

And I that27 am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt will yet28 make thee to dwell in tabernacles, as in29 the days of the solemn feast.

Ho 12:10

I have also30 spoken by the prophets, and I have multiplied31 visions, and used32 similitudes, by the ministry33 of the prophets.

Gilgal 1
Gilead

Is there iniquity34 in Gilead? surely35 they are vanity: they sacrifice36 bullocks in Gilgal; yea, their altars37 are as heaps in the furrows of the fields.

Ho 12:12
Aram

And Jacob38 fled into the country of Syria, and Israel39 served40 for a wife, and for a wife he kept sheep.

Ho 12:13
Egypt

41And by a prophet the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved.

Ho 12:14
WRATH-ANGER

Ephraim provoked42 him to anger most bitterly43: therefore shall he leave his blood44 upon him, and his reproach shall his Lord return unto him.
