Ho 3:1
The Lord's intended future kindness to Israel, not withstanding their wickedness, illustrated by the emblem of Hosea's conduct towards his adulterous wife.
Ho 3:1

Then said the LORD unto me, Go yet,1 love a woman beloved of her friend2, yet an adulteress, according3 to the love of the LORD toward the children of Israel, who look4 to other gods, and love flagons5 of wine6.

So I bought7 her to me for fifteen pieces of silver, and for an homer8 of barley, and an half homer9 of barley:

And I said unto her, Thou shalt abide10 for me many days; thou shalt not play the harlot, and thou shalt not be for another man: so will I also be for thee.

FALSE WORSHIP

For the children of Israel shall abide many days without a king11, and without a prince, and without a sacrifice12, and without an image13, and without an ephod14, and without teraphim15:

Ho 3:5

Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek16 the LORD their God, and David their king17; and shall fear18 the LORD and his goodness in the19 latter days.
