JONAH OR JONAS
JONAH OR JONAS

Then Jonah prayed1 unto the LORD his God out2 of the fish's belly,

Jon 2:2
BLESSINGS-AFFLICTIONS
HELL

And said, I cried3 by reason of mine4 affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out5 of the belly of hell6 cried I, and thou7 heardest my voice.

Jon 2:3

For thou8 hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst9 of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me.

Jon 2:4

Then I said10, I am cast out11 of thy sight; yet I will look again toward12 thy holy temple.

Jon 2:5
BLESSINGS-AFFLICTIONS

13The waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head.

Jon 2:6

I went down to the bottoms14 of the mountains; the earth15 with her bars was about me for ever: yet16 hast thou brought up my life from corruption17, O LORD my God.

Jon 2:7
REMEMBRANCE-FORGETFULNESS

When my soul18 fainted within me I remembered19 the LORD: and my prayer20 came in unto thee, into thine holy21 temple.

Jon 2:8
VANITIES, OF THE WICKED

22They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.

Jon 2:9
SACRIFICES

But I will sacrifice23 unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay24 that that I have vowed. Salvation25 is of the LORD.

Jon 2:10
He is delivered out of the belly of the fish.
Jon 2:10

26And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.
