Enoch

He 11:5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

This refers to:

Ge 5:24 And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.

The word ``translated'' means ``carried across''. Because of his faith, Enoch was carried by the power of God across that gulf of sin that separated man from God, so that he did not have to die first to see God. The Christians that are alive when Gabriel blows the horn will likewise be translated, not seeing death, yet still seeing God. It will be their faith that makes it possible for this to happen, the same faith that brought them to an altar of repentance.

He 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
