Hook: Alec Jackson's Pryce-Tannatt Rational #4/0 blind eye.
Tail: red breast father from the golden pheasant, from point to bend.
Rib: 4 turns of narrow flat gold tinsel, led by narrow fine silver oval tinsel, and another fine silver oval tinsel as a counter-rib.
Body: dark olive Berlin wool.
Hackle: natural blue eared pheasant, front half only.
Collar: red breast father from the golden pheasant.
Wing: bronze mallard, tented and very low, horizontal style.
Head: black.
Note: Named after a member of the dukedom at Gordon Castle on the Spey River. Created by the head ghillie (fisherman and fly tier, we would call him a guide today) of Gordon Castle. The best known of all Spey patterns.
