| | Hook: | Partridge Bartleet Supreme CS10/1 #2/0.
| | Rib: | 3 turns of wide flat gold tinsel,
with wide flat silver tinsel in between,
and fine round gold tinsel as a counter-rib.
| | Body: | purple Berlin wool.
| | Hackle: | natural blue eared pheasant.
| | Collar: | teal.
| | Wing: | bronze mallard, tented and very low, horizontal style.
| | Head: | black.
| | Note: | A classic Spey River fly, surely over 150 years old.
Normally this fly is tied with black or gray coque,
but this example uses the longer gray heron look.
