   This was the original idea behind the pub/MOO/contrib/moocode
   directory on beta.xerox.com, which I (with all due humility)
   got started way back in '91 or '92.

This was great back when parcftp permitted anonymous writes---people
could contribute software easily.  Unfortunately, due to heavy abuse
of the system, parcftp was forced to deny anonymous writes.  So the
pub/MOO/contrib/moocode directory is less useful than it used to be,
it being so difficult to actually contribute anything.
