¶ Bless¹ the LORD, O my soul. O LORD² my God, thou art very great³; thou art clothed⁴ with honour⁵ and majesty.

Who coverest thyself with light⁶ as with a garment: who stretchest⁷ out the heavens like a curtain:

Who layeth⁸ the beams of his chambers in the waters: who maketh⁹ the clouds his chariot: who walketh¹⁰ upon the wings of the wind:

Who maketh¹¹ his angels spirits; his ministers¹² a flaming fire:

Who laid the foundations of the earth¹³, that it¹⁴ should not be removed for ever.

¹⁵Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains.

At thy¹⁶ rebuke they fled¹⁷; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away.

They go up¹⁸ by the mountains; they go down by the valleys unto the place which thou hast founded for them.

Thou hast set¹⁹ a bound that they may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth.

¶ He sendeth²⁰ the springs into the valleys, which run²¹ among the hills.

They give²² drink to every beast of the field: the wild²³ asses quench²⁴ their thirst.

By them shall the fowls²⁵ of the heaven have their habitation, which sing²⁶ among the branches.

He watereth²⁷ the hills from his chambers²⁸: the earth²⁹ is satisfied with the fruit of thy works.

He causeth³⁰ the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb³¹ for the service of man: that he³² may bring forth food out of the earth;

And wine³³ that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil to make his³⁴ face to shine, and bread³⁵ which strengtheneth man's heart.

³⁶The trees of the LORD are full of sap; the cedars of Lebanon, which he hath planted;

Where the birds³⁷ make their nests: as for³⁸ the stork³⁹, the fir trees are her house.

The high hills are a refuge for the wild goats⁴⁰; and the rocks for the conies⁴¹.

¶⁴²He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down.

¶ Thou makest⁴³ darkness, and it is night: wherein all the beasts of the forest do creep forth⁴⁴.

The young⁴⁵ lions roar after their prey, and seek⁴⁶ their meat from God.

⁴⁷The sun ariseth, they gather themselves together, and lay them down in their dens.

⁴⁸Man goeth forth unto his work and to his labour until the evening.

O LORD, how⁴⁹ manifold are thy works! in wisdom⁵⁰ hast thou made them all: the earth⁵¹ is full of thy riches.

So is this great⁵² and wide sea, wherein are things creeping innumerable, both small and great beasts⁵³.

There go⁵⁴ the ships: there is that leviathan⁵⁵, whom thou hast made⁵⁶ to play therein.

⁵⁷These wait all upon thee; that thou mayest give them their meat in due season.

That thou givest them they gather⁵⁸: thou openest⁵⁹ thine hand⁶⁰, they are filled⁶¹ with good⁶².

Thou hidest⁶³ thy face, they are troubled: thou takest⁶⁴ away their breath, they die, and return⁶⁵ to their dust.

¶ Thou sendest⁶⁶ forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest⁶⁷ the face of the earth.

¶ The glory⁶⁸ of the LORD shall endure⁶⁹ for ever: the LORD shall rejoice in his works.

He looketh⁷⁰ on the earth, and it trembleth: he toucheth⁷¹ the hills, and they smoke.

⁷²I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.

My meditation⁷³ of him shall be sweet: I will be⁷⁴ glad in the LORD.

Let the sinners⁷⁵ be consumed out of the earth, and let the wicked be no more. Bless⁷⁶ thou the LORD, O my soul. Praise ye the LORD.
