David prays earnestly against his enemies;
Ps 28:1
PIT, THE
SECURITY-INSECURITY

A Psalm of David. Unto1 thee will I cry, O2 LORD my rock; be3 not silent to4 me: lest, if thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit.

Ps 28:2
HANDS, LIFTING UP OF, IN PRAYER AND PRAISE

Hear the voice of my supplications, when5 I cry unto thee, when I lift up my hands toward thy holy oracle6.

Ps 28:3

Draw7 me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which speak8 peace to their neighbours, but mischief9 is in their hearts.

Ps 28:4

Give10 them according to their deeds, and11 according to the wickedness of their endeavours: give them after the work12 of their hands; render13 to them their desert.

Ps 28:5

Because14 they regard not the works of the LORD, nor the operation15 of his hands, he shall destroy them, and not build16 them up.

Ps 28:6
and for the people.
Ps 28:6

17Blessed be the LORD, because he hath heard the voice of my supplications.

Ps 28:7
HELPS-HINDRANCES

The LORD is my strength18 and my shield19; my heart20 trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore21 my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with22 my song will I praise him.

Ps 28:8
WEAKNESS-POWER

The LORD is their23 strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed.

Ps 28:9

Save24 thy people, and bless25 thine inheritance: feed26 them also, and lift27 them up for ever.
