Ps 69:1 BLESSINGS-AFFLICTIONS | ¶ To the chief Musician upon Shoshannim, A Psalm2 of David. Save me, O God; for the waters3 are come in unto my soul. |
Ps 69:2 CHEERFULNESS-DESPONDENCY | I sink4 in deep mire5, where there is no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods6 overflow me. |
Ps 69:3 TESTS, SPIRITUAL | I am7 weary of my crying: my throat8 is dried: mine9 eyes fail while I wait10 for my God. |
Ps 69:4 | They that hate11 me without a cause are more than12 the hairs of mine head: they that would destroy me, being13 mine enemies wrongfully, are mighty: then I14 restored that which I took not away. |
Ps 69:5 KNOWLEDGE-IGNORANCE | O God, thou knowest my foolishness; and my sins15 are not hid16 from thee. |
Ps 69:6 | Let not17 them that wait on thee, O Lord GOD of hosts, be ashamed for my sake: let not those that seek thee be confounded for my sake, O God of Israel18. |
Ps 69:7 | Because19 for thy sake I have borne reproach; shame20 hath covered my face. |
Ps 69:8 | I am become21 a stranger unto my brethren, and an alien22 unto my mother's children. |
Ps 69:9 SIN-SAVIOUR | For the zeal23 of thine house hath eaten me up; and the24 reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me. |
Ps 69:10 SELF-INDULGENCE-SELF-DENIAL | ¶25When I wept, and chastened my soul with fasting, that was to my reproach. |
Ps 69:11 | I made26 sackcloth also my garment; and I became27 a proverb to them. |
Ps 69:12 DERISION MUSIC | They28 that sit in the gate speak against me; and I was29 the song of the drunkards30. |

Ps 69:13 ACCEPTED TIME | ¶ But as for me, my prayer31 is unto thee, O LORD, in an32 acceptable time: O God, in the33 multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of thy salvation. |
Ps 69:14 | Deliver34 me out of the mire, and let me35 not sink: let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of36 the deep waters. |
Ps 69:15 | Let not the waterflood37 overflow me, neither let the deep swallow me up, and let not the pit38 shut her mouth upon me. |
Ps 69:16 | Hear me, O LORD; for thy39 lovingkindness is good: turn40 unto me according41 to the multitude of thy tender mercies. |
Ps 69:17 | And hide42 not thy face from thy servant; for I am43 in trouble: hear me speedily44. |
Ps 69:18 | Draw45 nigh unto my soul, and redeem46 it: deliver me because47 of mine enemies. |

Ps 69:20 SUFFERINGS OF CHRIST | ¶ Reproach51 hath broken my heart; and I am52 full of heaviness: and I looked53 for some to take pity54, but there was none; and for comforters55, but I found none. |
Ps 69:21 GALL PROPHECY SYMPATHY-PITILESSNESS VINEGAR | They gave me also gall for my meat56; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar57 to drink. |
Ps 69:22 | He devotes his enemies to destruction. |
Ps 69:22 IMPRECATIONS | ¶ Let their table58 become a snare before them: and that which should have been for their welfare, let it become a trap59. |
Ps 69:23 | Let their eyes60 be darkened, that they see not; and make their61 loins continually to shake. |
Ps 69:24 WRATH-ANGER | Pour62 out thine indignation upon them, and let thy wrathful anger take63 hold of them. |
Ps 69:25 | Let their64 habitation65 be desolate; and let none dwell66 in their tents. |
Ps 69:26 | For67 they persecute him whom68 thou hast smitten; and they talk69 to the grief of those70 whom thou hast wounded. |
Ps 69:27 | Add71 iniquity72 unto their iniquity: and let them73 not come into thy righteousness. |
Ps 69:28 BOOKS, GOD'S | Let them be blotted74 out of the book of the living, and not be written75 with the righteous. |
Ps 69:29 | But I am poor76 and sorrowful: let thy77 salvation, O God, set me up on high. |
Ps 69:30 | He praises God with thanksgiving. |
Ps 69:30 | ¶ I will78 praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify79 him with thanksgiving. |
Ps 69:31 | This also shall80 please the LORD better than an ox or bullock that hath horns and hoofs. |

Ps 69:33 PROMISES, DIVINE | For the LORD83 heareth the poor, and despiseth not his prisoners84. |
Ps 69:34 NATURE'S PRAISE | Let85 the heaven and earth praise him, the seas, and every thing that moveth86 therein. |
Ps 69:35 Zion | For God87 will save Zion, and will build88 the cities of Judah: that they may dwell there, and have it in possession. |
Ps 69:36 HEREDITY | The seed89 also of his servants shall inherit it: and they90 that love his name shall dwell therein. |
