Pr 13:1
The advantages of prudence, diligence, piety, and sincerity; and the mischiefs resulting from the opposite vices.

SCORNERS, WARNINGS CONCERNING

A wise1 son heareth his father's instruction: but2 a scorner heareth not rebuke.

A man shall eat3 good by the fruit of his mouth: but the soul4 of the transgressors shall eat violence.

SILENCE-SPEECH

5He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.

SLUGGARD, THE

The soul of the sluggard desireth6, and hath nothing: but7 the soul of the diligent shall be made8 fat.

A righteous9 man hateth lying: but a wicked man is10 loathsome, and11 cometh to shame.

Righteousness12 keepeth him that is upright in the way: but wickedness13 overthroweth the sinner14.

There is that maketh himself rich15, yet hath nothing: there is that maketh himself poor16, yet hath great riches.

The ransom17 of a man's life are his riches: but the poor18 heareth not rebuke.

The light19 of the righteous rejoiceth: but the lamp20 of the wicked shall be put out.

Hope26 deferred maketh the heart sick: but when27 the desire cometh, it is a tree28 of life.

Whoso despiseth29 the word shall be destroyed: but he30 that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded31.

The law32 of the wise is a fountain of life, to33 depart from the snares of death.

Every prudent36 man dealeth with knowledge: but a fool37 layeth38 open his folly.

A wicked39 messenger falleth into mischief: but40 a faithful ambassador41 is health.

Poverty42 and shame shall be to him that refuseth instruction: but he43 that regardeth reproof shall be honoured.

The desire44 accomplished is sweet to the soul: but it is45 abomination to fools to depart46 from evil.

Evil pursueth50 sinners: but to the righteous51 good shall be repayed.

Pr 13:22

A good man leaveth52 an inheritance to his children's children: and the wealth53 of the sinner is laid up for the just.

Much food54 is in the tillage of the poor: but there is that is destroyed55 for want of judgment.
