David, condemning the spitefulness of Doeg, prophesies his destruction.
Ps 52:1
HUMILITY-PRIDE

To the chief Musician, Maschil, A Psalm of David, when Doeg the Edomite came and told2 Saul, and said unto him, David is come to the house of Ahimelech. Why boastest3 thou thyself in mischief4, O mighty5 man? the goodness6 of God endureth continually.

Ps 52:2
RAZORS

Thy7 tongue deviseth mischiefs; like8 a sharp razor, working9 deceitfully.

Ps 52:3
RIGHTEOUS-WICKED
SIN-SAVIOUR

Thou lovest10 evil more than good; and lying11 rather than to speak righteousness. Selah.

Ps 52:4

Thou lovest all devouring12 words, O thou13 deceitful tongue.

Ps 52:5
RIGHTEOUS-WICKED

God14 shall likewise destroy thee15 for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root16 thee out of the land17 of the living. Selah.

Ps 52:6
The righteous shall rejoice at it.
Ps 52:6
HONOUR-DISHONOUR

The righteous18 also shall see, and fear19, and shall laugh20 at him:

SECURITY-INSECURITY

Lo,21 this is the man that made22 not God his strength; but trusted23 in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened24 himself in his wickedness25.

Ps 52:8
David, upon his confidence in God's mercy, gives thanks.

TREES
TREES

But I am like26 a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust27 in the mercy of God for ever and ever.

Ps 52:9

I will praise28 thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait29 on thy name; for it is30 good before thy saints.
