Ps 52:1	David, condemning the spitefulness of Doeg, prophesies his destruction.
Ps 52:1 •HUMILITY-PRIDE	¶ *To the chief Musician, Maschil, A Psalm of David, when Doeg the Edomite came and told² Saul, and said unto him, David is come to the house of Ahimelech.* Why boastest³ thou thyself in mischief⁴, O mighty⁵ man? the goodness⁶ of God endureth continually.
Ps 52:2 •RAZORS	Thy⁷ tongue deviseth mischiefs; like⁸ a sharp razor, working⁹ deceitfully.
Ps 52:3 •RIGHTEOUS-WICKED •SIN-SAVIOUR	Thou lovest¹⁰ evil more than good; and lying¹¹ rather than to speak righteousness. Selah.
Ps 52:4	Thou lovest all devouring¹² words, O thou¹³ deceitful tongue.
Ps 52:5 •RIGHTEOUS-WICKED	God¹⁴ shall likewise destroy thee¹⁵ for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root¹⁶ thee out of the land¹⁷ of the living. Selah.
Ps 52:6	The righteous shall rejoice at it.
Ps 52:6 •HONOUR-DISHONOUR	¶ The righteous¹⁸ also shall see, and fear¹⁹, and shall laugh²⁰ at him:
Ps 52:7 •SECURITY-INSECURITY •SECURITY-INSECURITY	Lo,²¹ this is the man that made²² not God his strength; but trusted²³ in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened²⁴ himself in his wickedness²⁵.
Ps 52:8	David, upon his confidence in God's mercy, gives thanks.
Ps 52:8 •TREES •TREES	But I am like²⁶ a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust²⁷ in the mercy of God for ever and ever.
Ps 52:9	I will praise²⁸ thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait²⁹ on thy name; for it is³⁰ good before thy saints.
