Ps 54:1	David, complaining of the Ziphims, prays for salvation.
Ps 54:1 •SALVATION-CONDEMNATION	¶ *To the chief Musician on Neginoth, Maschil, A Psalm of David, when the Ziphims came and said to Saul, Doth not David hide himself with* us? Save me, O God, by thy name, and judge³ me by thy strength.
Ps 54:2	⁴Hear my prayer, O God; give ear to the words of my mouth.
Ps 54:3	For strangers⁵ are risen up against me, and oppressors⁶ seek after my soul: they have⁷ not set God before them. Selah.
Ps 54:4	Upon his confidence in God's help he promises sacrifice.
Ps 54:4 •HELPS-HINDRANCES	¶⁸Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul.
Ps 54:5	He shall reward⁹ evil unto mine enemies¹⁰: cut¹¹ them off in thy truth.
Ps 54:6	I will freely¹² sacrifice unto thee: I will praise¹³ thy name, O LORD; for it¹⁴ is good.
Ps 54:7	For he¹⁵ hath delivered me out of all trouble: and mine¹⁶ eye hath seen his desire upon mine enemies.
