Ps 54:1
David, complaining of the Ziphims, prays for salvation.
Ps 54:1
SALVATION-CONDEMNATION

To the chief Musician on Neginoth, Maschil, A Psalm of David, when the Ziphims came and said to Saul, Doth not David hide himself with us? Save me, O God, by thy name, and judge3 me by thy strength.

Ps 54:2

4Hear my prayer, O God; give ear to the words of my mouth.

Ps 54:3

For strangers5 are risen up against me, and oppressors6 seek after my soul: they have7 not set God before them. Selah.

Ps 54:4
Upon his confidence in God's help he promises sacrifice.

HELPS-HINDRANCES

8Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul.

Ps 54:5

He shall reward9 evil unto mine enemies10: cut11 them off in thy truth.

Ps 54:6

I will freely12 sacrifice unto thee: I will praise13 thy name, O LORD; for it14 is good.

Ps 54:7

For he15 hath delivered me out of all trouble: and mine16 eye hath seen his desire upon mine enemies.
