Ps 60:1	David, complaining to God of former judgment,
Ps 60:1 •FAVOUR-DISFAVOUR Edom Valley of Salt Aram-zobah Aram-naharaim	¶ To the chief Musician upon Shushaneduth, Michtam² of David, to teach; when he strove³ with Aramnaharaim and with Aramzobah, when Joab returned, and smote of Edom in the valley⁴ of salt twelve thousand. O God⁵, thou hast cast us off, thou hast scattered⁶ us, thou hast been displeased; O turn⁷ thyself to us again.
Ps 60:2	Thou hast made⁸ the earth to tremble; thou hast broken⁹ it: heal¹⁰ the breaches thereof; for it shaketh.
Ps 60:3	Thou hast shewed¹¹ thy people hard things: thou hast made us to drink¹² the wine of astonishment.
Ps 60:4	now upon better hope, prays for deliverance.
Ps 60:4 •BANNERS •TESTIMONY, RELIGIOUS	Thou hast given a banner¹³ to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because¹⁴ of the truth. Selah.
Ps 60:5	That¹⁵ thy beloved may be delivered; save¹⁶ with thy right hand, and hear me.
Ps 60:6	Comforting himself in God's promises, he craves that help whereon he trusts.
Ps 60:6 Vale of Succoth Shechem	¶ God¹⁷ hath spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice¹⁸, I will divide¹⁹ Shechem²⁰, and mete out the valley²² of Succoth.
Ps 60:7 •STEWARDSHIP-OWNERSHIP Gilead	Gilead²³ is mine, and Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength²⁴ of mine head; Judah²⁵ is my lawgiver;
Ps 60:8 Edom Moab Philistia	Moab²⁶ is my washpot; over²⁷ Edom will I cast out my shoe: Philistia, triumph²⁸ thou because of me.
Ps 60:9 •GUIDANCE Edom	Who²⁹ will bring me into the strong city³⁰? who will lead me into Edom?
Ps 60:10	¶ Wilt³¹ not thou, O God, which hadst³² cast us off? and thou, O God, which didst³³ not go out with our armies?
Ps 60:11	Give³⁴ us help from trouble: for vain³⁵ is the help³⁶ of man.
Ps 60:12	Through God we shall³⁷ do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread³⁸ down our enemies.
