Ps 74:1 SHEPHERD, CHRIST AS TITLES AND NAMES | ¶ Maschil of Asaph. O God2, why hast thou cast us off for ever? why doth thine anger smoke3 against the sheep4 of thy pasture? |
Ps 74:2 Mount Zion | Remember thy congregation, which thou hast purchased5 of old; the rod6 of thine inheritance, which thou hast redeemed7; this mount8 Zion, wherein thou hast dwelt. |
Ps 74:3 | Lift9 up thy feet unto the perpetual10 desolations; even all11 that the enemy hath done wickedly in the sanctuary. |
Ps 74:4 | Thine12 enemies roar in the midst of thy congregations; they set13 up their ensigns for signs. |
Ps 74:5 | 14A man was famous according as he had lifted up axes upon the thick trees. |
Ps 74:6 ARTS AND CRAFTS | 15But now they break down the carved work thereof at once with axes and hammers. |
Ps 74:7 TEMPLES | They have cast fire into thy sanctuary16, they have defiled17 by casting down the dwelling18 place of thy name to the ground. |
Ps 74:8 ISRAEL-THE JEWS | They said19 in their hearts, Let us destroy20 them together: they have burned up all the synagogues of God in the land. |
Ps 74:9 LEADERS, RELIGIOUS POVERTY-RICHES | We see21 not our signs: there is no more22 any prophet: neither is there among us any that knoweth how long. |
Ps 74:10 | He moves God to help in consideration of his power; |
