Ps 85:1
The Psalmist, out of the experience of former mercies, prays for the continuance thereof.
Ps 85:1

To the chief Musician, A Psalm for the sons of Korah. LORD2, thou hast been favourable unto3 thy land: thou hast4 brought back the captivity of Jacob.

Ps 85:2
SIN-SAVIOUR

Thou hast forgiven5 the iniquity of thy people, thou hast covered all their sin. Selah.

Ps 85:3

Thou hast taken6 away all thy wrath: thou hast turned7 thyself from the fierceness of thine anger.

Ps 85:4

Turn us,8 O God9 of our salvation, and cause10 thine anger toward us to cease.

Ps 85:5

Wilt thou be angry11 with us for ever? wilt thou draw12 out thine anger to all generations?

Ps 85:6
AWAKENINGS AND RELIGIOUS REFORMS

Wilt thou not revive13 us again: that thy people14 may rejoice in thee?

Ps 85:7
MERCIFULNESS-UNMERCIFULNESS

15Shew us thy mercy, O LORD, and grant us thy salvation.

Ps 85:8
He promises to wait thereon, out of confidence of God's goodness.
Ps 85:8

I will hear16 what God the LORD will speak: for he17 will speak peace unto his people, and to his18 saints: but19 let them not turn again to folly20.

Ps 85:9

Surely21 his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory22 may dwell in our land.

Ps 85:10

Mercy23 and truth are met together; righteousness24 and peace have kissed each other.

Ps 85:11

Truth25 shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness26 shall look down from heaven.

Ps 85:12

Yea, the LORD27 shall give that which is good; and our land28 shall yield her increase.

Ps 85:13

Righteousness29 shall go before him; and shall set30 us in the way of his steps.
