To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. How2 long wilt thou forget3 me, O LORD? for ever? how long wilt thou hide4 thy face from me?

Ps 13:2

How long shall I take5 counsel in my soul, having sorrow6 in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy7 be exalted8 over me?

He prays for preventing grace.

SLEEP-WAKEFULNESS

Consider9 and hear me, O LORD my God: lighten10 mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;

Ps 13:4

Lest12 mine enemy say, I have13 prevailed against him; and those that trouble me rejoice when14 I am moved.

Ps 13:5
He boasts of divine mercy.
Ps 13:5

But15 I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart16 shall rejoice in thy salvation.

Ps 13:6

I17 will sing unto the LORD, because he18 hath dealt bountifully with me.
