David prays that his suit may be acceptable;
Ps 141:1

A Psalm of David. LORD, I cry unto thee: make haste1 unto me; give ear unto my voice, when I cry unto thee.

Ps 141:2
HANDS, LIFTING UP OF, IN PRAYER AND PRAISE

Let my prayer2 be set forth3 before thee as incense4; and the lifting5 up of my hands as the evening6 sacrifice.

his conscience sincere;

RESTRAINTS, DIVINE

Set a watch7, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.

Ps 141:4
FOOD, PHYSICAL-SPIRITUAL

Incline not8 my heart to any evil thing, to practise9 wicked works with men that work iniquity: and let me10 not eat of their dainties.

COMMENDATION-REPROOF
OIL

Let the righteous11 smite12 me; it shall be a kindness: and let him reprove me; it shall be an excellent oil, which shall not break my head: for yet my prayer also shall be in their calamities.

Ps 141:6

When their judges13 are overthrown in stony places, they shall hear14 my words; for they15 are sweet.

and his life free from snares.

GRAVE, THE
TRANSIENT-ENDURING

Our bones16 are scattered at the grave's mouth, as when one cutteth and cleaveth wood upon the earth.

Ps 141:8
SEEING GOD

But mine eyes17 are unto thee, O GOD the Lord: in thee is my trust; leave not my soul destitute18.

Ps 141:9
SNARES LAID BY THE WICKED

Keep me from the snares19 which they have laid for me, and the gins of the workers of iniquity.

Ps 141:10

Let the wicked20 fall into their own nets, whilst that I withal escape21.
